Not much is known of the Amazonians that reside on Luskia, fanciful folk tales tell of a crashed starship crewed entirely by nubile females in the deep swamps, and of raiding parties on small settlements stealing away their menfolk never to be seen again. These tales are born of a grain of truth then muddied by time. The Amazons are in fact a true thing having several forms including Dwarven Amazonians. What ever is true the Amazonians have had a continued presence in the jungles of Luskia for sometime now and only accept female outsiders to bulk out their ranks, any male intrusions meet with a swift blade.
The Eru-Kin know of them and share their lands with them having an agreement to respect one another’s rights. This fledgling alliance can go as far as assistance in raids and wars if their interests align.
The Amazonian Pistolero Unit
Pistoleros Amazons have been known to use old-tech weapons mostly pistols that were recovered from wrecked starships and handed down through generations. Rare weapons have been seen on the battlefield by groups of Amazonian Pistoleros. The ships that were plundered for their tech have long since sunk beneath the murky waters of Luskias swamps so it is unclear as to origins of the tech pistols be they Amazons or Eru-Kin.

Armed with bladed weapons similar in style to the Eru-Kin these warriors are the backbone of any Amazon warband, those who survive the training and first battles may advance into more prestigious units, the stealthy Panthers, the scouting Eagles, and the powerful Crocodile sisterhoods await those that show prowess on the battlefield.
The Amazonian Spear Unit
Amazons are taught at an early age to use staffs and by the age of 10 they are masters of the staff and short spear, the Amazonian Spear Unit is where all young Amazons will see their first fighting and from there they advance into more specialist units if they show promise. Amazonians spear units can be found in most warbands and give limited-range attacks which can be useful against lightly armoured enemies and defence against mounted troops.

Many years ago in my youth I collected both the Slann and Amazon miniatures from Citadel and they have always been my ‘comfort’ figures when I think back to my early years of collecting. When Diehard Miniatures came into being I picked Eru-Kin to sculpt first as my love for the Slann made me want to sculpt something from my past that deserved a revisit. It would be a while before I could sculpt the Amazons and they were shoe horned into a Eru-Kin kickstarter but they were finally out! I plan on expanding the Amazon range in time and taking them further than Citadels small range did. Expect some Mounted Furies very soon!! 🙂
